Donating and the coronavirus

At Sanquin, the corona check is no longer mandatory.

  • Always do the donation check before your appointment. It contains a number of general reasons why you should not be able to donate now. At your appointment, you will go through the medical questionnaire. This is more extensive and the result can still lead to you (temporarily) not being allowed to donate blood or plasma.
  • Wait 7 days after your corona vaccination/booster shot before donating.
  • In addition, we advise you not to donate on the day of your corona vaccination.
  • You must not have had any symptoms such as a cold (cold, runny nose, sneezing), sore throat, cough, fever or fever in the past 14 days.
  • Wearing a face mask is not mandatory. If you feel comfortable wearing a face mask, feel free to bring it and wear it at the blood bank.
