Symposium Therapeutic Drug Monitoring
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Biologics: Progress in Chronic Inflammatory Diseases
Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam (OBA) the Amsterdam Public Library December 9, 2016
Therapeutic drug monitoring of biologic medicines is a novel but pivotal concept in inflammatory diseases. New data show a relationship between the dose of these therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, their concentration in serum and tissue (pharmacokinetics, PK) and the biologic and clinical effect they exert (pharmacodynamics, PD). Sufficient target engagement appears to be of paramount importance, whereas the immunogenicity of the monoclonal antibodies is an additional confounding factor that needs to be taken into account.
We wish to share all novel and clinically relevant information in this rapidly growing field with clinicians who are active in rheumatology, dermatology and gastroenterology and with pharmacists/clinical pharmacologists with a special interest in PK-PD of biologics.
Sanquin and the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam jointly invited a number of leading investigators in this field, ensuring highly informative and challenging lectures. There will be ample networking opportunities during the entire meeting. We look forward to welcoming you in the public library in the very heart of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
