Donor and patient safety is top priority for Sanquin. Sanquin Research's Donor Studies department conducts both practical as well as scientific research on donors. This is so that they can guarantee the health and availability of donors now and in the future.
Why are some people donors and others not? Does donating cause stress for a donor? Do personality traits and behaviour influence the risk of fainting? How healthy are donors? And how healthy is it to donate blood? These are a few examples of survey questions provided by our behaviour and health researchers.
We are often dependent on the participation of our donors for conducting our surveys. That's why you may receive a survey request from us in the mail, or you may be approached at the donor centre and asked to participate in a survey.
