Do you have blood type AB positive?

Around 2,5% of all Dutch people have this blood type, so only few people need this. That's why we don't invite you on a regular basis. However, this doesn't mean you're less important. You're still vital to a lot of people! If you want to donate more, you could consider switching to plasma.

Women are allowed to give blood a maximum of three times a year, men up to five times a year. How often you are called upon depends on the blood group that is needed at a certain time. A patient preferably receives blood from his own blood group. Thus, a patient with blood group AB positive preferably receives blood from an AB-positive blood donor. We therefore need all blood groups.
