Meet Tiffany Timmer
Tiffany Timmer studied Health Sciences and joined the team in September 2014. As a PhD student she is responsible for the execution of DIS-III. Her focus will be on genetic variation in haemoglobin levels after frequent blood donation.
Tiffany completed the research master Lifestyle and Chronic Disorders at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. During her master she evaluated the longitudinal association between energy intake and nutritional status in children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis. Besides, she evaluated whether hand grip strength and heel bone mass of middle aged and older adults are determined by past and/or current physical activity. After graduating, Tiffany worked as datamanager at the Hematology department, VUmc, Amsterdam. In September 2014, she joined the department of Donor Studies. As a PhD student she will be responsible for the execution of DIS-III: genetic variation in haemoglobin levels after frequent blood donation.
