The Immunoglobulin Research Lab

The Immunoglobulin Research Lab, part of the Department of Experimental Immunology, is headed by Dr. Gestur Vidarsson. The main interests of this group are basic biology of Immunoglobulins in health and disease. This includes their formation and development in B cells to pharmacology and their functional properties through interaction with their receptors. All this research is performed in the context of their relevance for destruction of blood cells in allo- (transfusion and pregnancy) and autoimmune settings, together with Prof Dr. Ellen van der Schoot, head of Experimental Immunohematololy.
