A legal DNA test can be commissioned by the Dutch Courts, Immigration Service and other government institutions and semi-government institutions such as Youth Assistance. It may also be requested by individuals when requiring legal proof in determining kinship.

The collection of the DNA samples for a legal DNA test can be performed at several Sanquin locations. Sanquin is responsible for the personal identification, the collection of DNA samples, DNA analysis and the final report.

NB. With the information from our DNA tests it is not possible to tell whether a person has a disease or is a carrier of a hereditary disease.
