Wanted: 0-negative blood donors
0-negative is a very special blood group. Special in the sense that 0-neg is the only blood group that can without risk be administered to anyone. In case of emergency, where there is no time to establish the blood group of a patient, 0-neg blood saves lives. That is why the demand for 0-neg is very high. Only one in thirteen people in the Netherlands has this blood group. That is why the 0-neg donors are being asked by Sanquin to come in and donate blood very regularly. Do you have blood-group 0-negative? Of the Dutch population only 7% has this special blood-group. Relatives of people with 0-negative blood have a greater chance (over 30%) to have 0-negative blood as well. That means parents, brothers, sisters and children.
